Cushions and Umbrella Canopies

Wipe up minor spills with a mild soap and damp cloth. Always rinse thoroughly without soaking.

Pat dry to remove excess water. Stand on end and allow to air dry. A leaf blower can be used to shorten drying time.

  • DO NOT USE home or commercial laundry machines or dryers
  • DO NOT soak in water
  • DO NOT dry clean or iron
  • DO NOT use any other types of chemicals such as bleach or solvents!
  • ALWAYS cover or bring cushions inside when not in use.

NOTE: The application of any type of fabric treatment to a cushion is not recommended and may void the fabric warranty. Most fabrics already have a treatment applied and the use of additional treatment may have a negative effect on the fabric. There are some suntan lotion products that may be damaging to cushions, slings and vinyl straps. To avoid risking staining to these surfaces, DO NOT allow this type of product to come in contact with your furniture.

Water-Resistant fabrics shed water because of their weave or because they have been treated. They will soak through in a heavy rain, however.

Frame Care

When storing furniture, please be sure to drain any water out of the frames.  This may require turning the frame upside down or on its side. Failure to drain the water can result in freeze damage, which is not covered by the warranty.

Wrought Iron

Like a car, wrought iron frames need to be cared for and maintained to preserve the finish. The corrosion of wrought iron is unavoidable. Any frame areas that show signs of corrosion should be attended to immediately. Use mild soap and water with a sponge or rag for normal cleaning. Recondition the finish by using a clear liquid automotive wax. This will protect against UV light and salt, damp air.

If Covering Rust with touch up paint: Clean area with naval jelly. Let it set for a few minutes, then wipe clean with warm soapy water. Repeat steps if necessary. Should furniture become scratched or chipped, lightly sand the area, wipe clean with a dry cloth and apply automotive type primer. After the primer has dried, apply touch-up paint to repaired area. When applying touch up paint, please use thin coats.

Twice a year the frames should be washed with a solution of mild soap and water, and then a good quality clear liquid automotive wax should be applied to the surfaces.

Resin Wicker

Use a soft cloth and clean with mixture of two tablespoons of mild liquid soap to one gallon of warm water. DO NOT USE solvents, janitorial cleaner, alcohol based cleaners/protectants, scouring agents, bleach, gasoline, or ammonia-based cleaners.

Tables

FOR SAFETY REASONS, NEVER SIT OR STAND ON A TABLETOP.

Aluminum and Wrought Iron Mesh Tops Cleaning and Maintenance

Use a mild soap and water when cleaning metal tops. For aluminum or wrought iron mesh, a soft bristle brush may be used to loosen up food particles/dirt and debris. DO NOT USE janitorial or alcohol based cleaners (some cleaners may even be marked as natural, so please read the ingredients) as they may cause discoloration, or an adverse reaction to your finish. Use a clear car wax on the metal areas to restore the shine and protect your finish. Use soap and water to clean. A vinegar and warm soapy water solution may be used to wipe off hard water deposits.

Always, cover your furniture with outdoor furniture covers when not in use to protect it from the elements.  Furniture covers can be purchased at most patio shops and home improvement centers.

Umbrella Frames

Always close umbrellas and remove from table when windy conditions are likely to occur or overnight.

To retain the new look of an aluminum umbrella frame, occasionally apply a good grade of clear liquid automotive wax to the pole.

ALWAYS USE AN UMBRELLA BASE.
